Singapore, 29 August 2025 — SP Group (SP) today announced that it has acquired Siemens AG’s (Siemens) 49 per cent stake in Power Automation Pte Ltd (PA), making PA a wholly-owned subsidiary of SP. The acquisition will strengthen SP’s capabilities in smart grid, power systems control, and digital energy solutions, supporting the future of Singapore’s power grid, energy transition and security.
Established in 1996 as a joint venture between SP and Siemens, PA has built a strong track record in delivering mission-critical energy automation solutions. Its expertise spans power systems control, substation automation, protection systems and sustainable energy solutions. Its key projects include Singapore’s next generation distribution control centre, smart substation initiatives, advanced distribution management platforms and other major grid projects in the region
The acquisition enables SP to broaden critical engineering capabilities for major infrastructure developments in Singapore, accelerate the deployment of smart grid technologies, and deliver key projects to support the energy transition. It positions PA to broaden partnerships with leading global partners, offering customers enhanced value with a greater range of best-in-class technologies and solutions. PA will maintain its long-standing collaboration with Siemens, providing customers continued access to Siemens’ technologies and products.
